The reason for the takeover is that BRAVIDA wants to focus on
their core business in Norway, and at the same time make sure
that all customers with gas system are taken care of by one of
the best known suppliers for gas detection systems in the marine
market, according to Mr. Morten Pettersen, Regional Director of
BVT/Østfold, Bravida Norge AS. OMICRON wants, at the same
time, to expand their scope of supply with a well-known and reliable
system specially designed for gas carriers. The acquisition of
Moss Gas Detection System will strengthen our position in this
highly specialized market says Mr. Tom Ivar Iversen, General Manager
of OMICRON.
OMICRON will continue to produce and sell their well-known OGS
3 Gas Sampling System for tanker vessels and special vessels like
FPSO and Shuttle Tankers. With Moss Gas Detection System, OMICRON
can offer ship owners and ship yards a complete product range
of gas detection systems, including specially designed systems
for LNG and LPG carriers. The system will be promoted world wide
together with OMICRON’s other well-known quality products.
All production, spare part handling and service of the acquired
gas system will be carried out from OMICRON’s office and
production facility in Norway.
