UPGRADING OF THE GAS DETECTION SYSTEM FOR PUMP ROOM ONBOARD TANKERS
An increasingly number of class societies have interpreted IACS’ (International Association of Class Societies) recommendation “that potentially dangerous leakage are readily detected” to cover a monitoring system with display for exact reading of the gas level.

As a consequence of this, OMICRON has developed a new gas detection system for pump room, type OGA-2.0. The new system has an independent display for each measuring point in order to cover all aspects of IMO, IACS, OCIMF and class societies’ latest recommendation and rules regarding continuous reading of gas concentration.

OGA-2.0 is a multi-gas system covering HC, O2 and H2S gases. Other gases on request. The former gas detection system, type OGA-1.0, will not be produced any more. Since OGA-1.0 was built on our standard units, service and spare parts will be taken care of the normal way by our staff.
